Need new cookware?

by Jenise » Mon Dec 06, 2010 5:59 am

Williams Sonoma is having a 20% off sale on all cookware. For those in the U.S., might be a good time to buy that new Le Creuset dutch oven you've been craving.

If anyone's interested, use promo code WSCOOK20 when you place an online order.

Thanks for the tip Jenise...I got a great deal on replacing a 1 quart saucepan with a Calaphon non-stick. Including shipping I enjoyed a 98.00 reduction, with their sale price and the promo code. Wah Hoo!

That's great, Karen. Makes me so happy that someone could take advantage of that.

Not only me, my neighbor spent a chunk of change, as well! She was thrilled. :D

Funny that you should mention this, Jenise. Just the other night I was looking at the interior of my All-Clad sauté pan, now 11 years old and bearing quite a few scratches that mar its appearance, and wondering whether I should consider replacing my set of All-Clads. Nah! Performance is still unimpaired and across the board excellent and the appearance is acceptable if not pristine. I just won't be making the cover of Better Home and Garden any time soon, alas (that, I'll leave to your kitchen).

Hey--I would never replace those! Well-used equipment looks loved to me, not worn, so compared to some people I probably under-clean as a result. I never shine my copper stuff, for instance.

I'd love to have gone for some of that cookware, but with Gail now unemployed, there are more pressing needs for our reduced cashflow. :(

Ouch, didn't realize that this happened. I take it, this wasn't a voluntary change?

Not voluntary on Gail's part. :( Happened at the end of the work day the Monday before Thanksgiving Day.

What a great Thanksgiving Day present! Some people's sense of timing just astounds me.

Jeez, sorry to hear that Robert. My wife's brother-in-law was laid off just a couple of days ago. We were wondering if there's some sort of financial advantage gained from doing this around the end of the year as it seems to be such a common time for these things to happen.

First off, Robert, my sympathies to Gail.

MIke... Of course, some industries have year-end bonuses so that's easy to understand. I'd suppose it's just end-of-quarter/end-of-year bookkeeping that bring the bad news on.
