In fact, it's so old the original color is Harvest Gold, that I re-painted several years ago with appliance paint, but at the time, it was better than what I had. Yesterday, I was given a Jenn-Air, 30 inch, dual fuel with gas cooktop and electric convection oven. It's not the latest model (black glass front), but it has all the accessories - griddle, grill, burners, etc. Apparently it's been stored in a garage for several years, so it needs some cleaning. I'm going to have to run a gas line to installation area, so I have some work to do before I get around to putting it in. My question is in regards the ventilation system. I searched online and can't seem to find out how the ventilation fan and ductwork is installed. The exhaust fan is a separate unit with a short cord that plugs into an outlet on the end of a short cord at bottom of the range. Both the inlet and outlet of the fan are round (6" I believe). My question is "How do I mount the exhaust fan?" Does it mount directly on the floor or wall? Do I cut a hole in the kitchen floor and run ductwork to the outside of the house from the basement. The installation area is located against an exterior wall. Can I just cut through the wall to the outside? Or can I do either one?
