Reese's peanut butter cups now come in dark chocolate. Do NOT tell my husband!

Oh yes! We are easily seduced by Reese's ourselves. Our current lapse of willpower resulted in a package of the "Reese's Peanut Butter Trees" coming home from the grocery store. Yes, we already stumbled upon a Christmas section of candies in the stores. To our credit, we HAVE managed to leave the package on the counter a full 24 hours and NOT eat one! We'll see how long that lasts...:)

And if dark chocolate cups are wild, we also happened to notice a package that read, "HALF POUND Reese's Peanut Butter Cups"??? Yikes! Perhaps they're trying to compete with the softball sized Hershey Kiss that has long been a holiday favorite? ;)

Anyway, we didn't dare venture into exploring the half pound cups. On the good side, it made our purchasing of the peanut butter trees seem harmless by comparison! LOL

We'll see how long that lasts. They've been lightening and cheapening their chocolate coating for years. The milk chocolate now tastes like palm oil enhaced chocolate with minimal cocoa solids.

I once made an open faced sandwich with Chocolate Cherry Bread French Toast topped with Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter topped with a Deep Fried Reese's topped with Chocolate Ice Cream topped with Hot Fudge Sauce. It was yummy.

Ooooh, Reese's.. Someone tipped my husband off to a bakery in town that buries a small Reese's cup in a donut hole and covers the whole thing with peanut butter frosting. I have not had a sample, but he recently admitted he's picked up the treat for the office. He says they are delightful. Me? I'm a purist, just give me the standard two pack and stand back.
