A cousin, who lives in San Francisco, ate at this restaurant (this was mentioned in a post here recently) and here is her summary of the experience:
went to the Wayfarers Tavern, Tyler Florence's place, and the food was spectacular. I had a squash soup with chestnut ravioli and whipped autumn-spiced buttermilk, (like creme fresh). It was so rich but so good and the portions are big which was surprising. My friend had their famous fried chicken and it was really, really super delicious. A small organic chicken but 5 pieces and so moist, really juicy. I had the braised short ribs, also good and we ordered dessert just to taste thinking it would be small but it was large and so delicious I couldn't stop eating it although I was full. Not a good place to go on a diet. It was a Walnut Caramel Tart, it came warm with buttermilk ice cream. Fresh, fresh crust. All the desserts had some surprising sides like coriander syrup with the Carrot Cake and black pepper and sage ice creams. My friend didn't want to try them but next time I will.

I would go back for sure. My friend likes high end things like champagne and oysters on the half shell plus she ordered the chicken and a side of macaroni and cheese (very delicious also with smoked olive oil, who knew there was such a thing?) I had the soup and short ribs and of course we had the great dessert, one glass of the champagne and one dolcetto wine and it was a little under $80 each with 20% tip. It could be a lot less knowing how filling everything was, or a lot more with more drinks.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
The parking stinks but for $10 there's valet after 5 pm. There are two flights of stairs to the upstairs dining room.
