Pleasant Valley Farms, in WA

by Karen/NoCA » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:25 pm

A good friend of ours just returned from Mt. Vernon WA where he and his wife attended a family reumion at Pleasant Valley Farms. He was telling my husband about the farm, 300 acres of cucumbers, plus all the other things they grow. He brought us a 64 ounce jar of old-fashioned sauerkraut, saying it is the best he has ever had. He will bring us a jar of their bread and butter pickles soon. I am looking forward to trying the sauerkraut because it is a favorite of mine.
Jenise, our friend said Mt. Vernon was near Bellingham...have you ever visited Pleasant Valley Farms?

No, I haven't. Mt. Vernon is south of Bellingham, where I'm north. And though we're not far apart a 20ish mile sparsely populated mountain pass and a county line separates the two towns, so it's not like I pass through Mt. Vernon unless I'm going to Seattle.

Skagit is full of farms, though, beautiful area.

It sounds like a most pleasant day trip . . . for when we have nothing more pressing to do. Yes?

I could be talked into that! Look at all the possibilities (Pleasant Valley Farms is on this list, I like the notation "office in trailer"--changes my whole mental image of what a place called Pleasant Valley Farms should look like):
