You did read the comments too, though, I hope. Like the person who couldn't find pre-shredded carrots or ginger dressing so she substituted cream cheese and a bagel.... Splendid nonsense!

Yes! I didn't think it was right to copy those over.

Also, cynical me, I wondered if Food Network didn't use shills to post the two five-star reviews at the end of the list, to bring the average star rating out of the basement.

That is funny stuff. But the bagel and cream cheese person has to be a joke. I hope...

I think most of the reports (including the guy who subbed ground beef) are a series of jokes, and as noted, I half suspect the moderators ran in a couple of shills at the end in hope of turning things around. Of course, they COULD censor ...

Of course they're jokes--everyone got it and piled on, which is what makes it so great. As for the shills--prolly Robin herself.

I loved the silly comments, everyone jumped on this and made it fun. That recipe should be taken off the recipe line-up. Pre-shredded carrots are ghastly.

Ah, I have never watched her. I make Lumpia and freeze it to have for a quick lunch or for an appetizer when friends drop by. One time, my friend, whom I make them with wanted to do a batch and suggested we use pre-shred carrots and cabbage. OK, I'm game to try new things, so I picked up the ingredients. I decided the carrots and cabbage needed a water bath and a run through my salad spinner. In both bags, I discovered some moldy pieces clinging to other shreds. That did it for me. I ran out and got organic carrots and a nice head of cabbage, and ran them through my food processor. What was I thinking! I am all for making some chores easier, and I wish I could trust those bagged produce products.

She either has to be the girlfriend or relative of some decision maker at the network.

Jeez! I was reading this thread thinking that you were talking about Sandra Lee. Food Network has two shows this lame? Wow. Even Bourdain is pulling his punches about those clowns.

Yes! It was couched in a warning to the citizens of New York. They're scared. :)

Yup. But at least Sandra has a lot of personality; I've seen maybe three episodes of Robin's which I stayed with mostly out of stunned curiosity that someone this uninteresting is on the air. Believe me, if orange juice, chicken breasts and carrots left the planet, she wouldn't have a show.
