This season's Top Chef

I have not been able to get into this season's Top Chef series, have you? I know there's only been two shows so far. Last year I watched becase one of the chef's was local and I could hardly wait 'til Wednesday nights. I thought the same thing would happen again since this season takes place in DC, where I work, but it hasn't happened yet. Am I alone in missing the excitment?

I only flip past the show these days. I lost most of my interest a couple of seasons ago.

I dunno...maybe without Brian Voltaggio who you actually knew, it's not the same? I'm having fun watching it, but then I watch very little TV and so the exceptions are always things I look forward to.

Just watched the new episode this morning--the school lunch challenge. I'm surprised who they picked to go home. Personally, I thought the other girl on that team, the one who made chicken in a sherry sauce, ought to have been sent home. The sherry should have sent her fanny packing on general principals--alcohol, even alcohol that cooks out, for school children? Would have thought that an immediate disqualification; it's worse in my eyes than two pounds of sugar, at any rate.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I too was surprised. Trying to make under-ripe bananas palatable by adding sugar isn't as poor judgement as trying to feed chicken with a sherry nuisance to kids in a lunch program. It's was not just the flavor or the alcohol I objected to, it was the expense! Using a small can/bottle of apple cider or white grape juice would have been a much better choice both cost wise and as a flavor profile for kids at school lunch.

And the kids couldn't STAND it. At least they liked the pudding. That should have counted a little bit, though I realize the emphasis was nutrition.
