TTN: Wu Lu Mountain; Huo Shan Huang Ya

The Wu Lu Mt. (70 C.; 3 min.) is a green tea which has some of the lactic, soft aromas that I love but also a bit of the bitterness that I find in e.g. generic Sencha that I don't (I did make sure that the water wasn't too hot). Drinkable, but not my style, though there were some lovely elements.

On the other hand, the Huo Shan Huang Ya (65 C.; 10 min infusion - yellow tea IMO need a long infusion at a low temperature) was very much to my taste. It is a "yellow" tea from the Buddhists' Holy Mt. Huo Shan. To me it seems like the Nebbiolo of teas: it has the aromatic freshenss of Pinot Noir, but structure of Cabernet. Lovely and elegant tea.

p.s. Pleeeease, someone else post notes on good drinks other than wine!

Sorry. I love reading your tea notes, but never have got properly into it (but your notes are beginning to make me think I should try some - any tea described as Nebbiolo like is going to perk my interest up). Oddly I did start sampling tea at college many years ago, but I think beer interrupted any interest I might have harboured.

So keep posting and I promise to look for interesting teas to try!

regards

Thanks Ian! I was thinking of making an open mike for tea on this forum. Any interest?
