New decadant breakfast

by Howie Hart » Tue Apr 06, 2010 1:39 am

Before leaving Maine this morning, my oldest son, Dan, made a stunning breakfast meal for us - scrambled eggs with lobster meat and brie. Amazingly good. :P

Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

What, no champagne? Food like that deserves bubbly, no matter what time of day it is!

True, a bubbly would have been great - even cheap stuff in a mamosa - however, we had a nine hour drive ahead of us right after breakfast.

There must be a picture of that under 'Rich Food' in the phrase dictionary.

Howie
Every year I have to come up with something new for mothers day breakfast in bed for the wife. After thirty years, it is getting difficult to come up with something new, but this sounds like something she'll love. Could you please provide a little more info on this dish? When is the brie added, at the begining or near the end of the scramble? Did he use a hard or soft brie? Living on the left coast, I may subsitute crab for lobster. Thanks.

Hi Armand - Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I just saw my son again last night and asked him what he did. He simply mixed the three ingredients together in a bowl before pouring into a skillet with some melted butter. I think this would make a great Mothers Day breakfast with crab meat, and, as Jenise suggested, a nice glass of bubbly. Happy Mothers Day.
