High quality EVOO

by Bob Henrick » Mon Mar 15, 2010 9:15 pm

A couple weeks ago I was shopping at Sam's Club, and lo and behold I saw some special EVOO. Both were about $10 per liter. One was an Omaggio brand vtg dated Nov - Dec (2008) from olives grown in Sicily. The other was not vtg dated, but was from all Italian olives and was also about $10 per liter. It was labeled as Members Mark, which is Sam's Club trademark. I haven't opened either bottle yet, but was interested in hearing from those here who might have an opinion. (Not of course that anyone here has opinions). links are: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/naviga ... tem=361756

The Members mark is not available for linking to.

We use Partanna EVOO which is made in Sicily from Sicilian olives. It is a wonderful everyday oil and also runs $10/liter.

Thanks Carl. I usually buy the Members Mark Cold pressed (first pressing) in a 3liter jug, and it is quite good. It is about $15 for the 3 liter jug, and is very flavorful. I cook with that, and will use these for salads and for dipping.
