Other than the usual cheeses, salads, shrimp, nuts, champagne and various wines, the small party I attended last night was incredibly diverse--a not unusual thing for Albuquerque. But besides several Murcans, we had the host from The Central Republic of Africa, her husband from England, a visitor from Melbourne, an East Indian couple with their (well-behaved) children and a Croatian. And, with the fireplace roaring, we had a jolly good time.
The visitor from Melbourne admitted she was earlier hammered by just three beers (it's our altitude). I told her that once you get acclimated, you can visit sea level places and drink like a fish.
