Mumbai food photos

Some of you may remember I am moving to India from Japan - well it's happening! This weekend I was in Mumbai on Friday and MOnday for business so I stayed the weekend (we live in Delhi)

Went for a late afternoon stroll on Sunday and wandered into a neighborhood market - no tourists in this one!

What an interesting life you're going to have there, John. Are there also supermarkets in the style Americans are used to?

John, what is the quality of the spices offered by, say, the white-bearded gent? I would guess that everything is fresh -- he probably gets his supplies locally, too -- but are the individual pods (e.g.) free of worms, evenly ripened, etc?
