Prep Day

by Robert J. » Thu Nov 19, 2009 7:11 pm

I had a rare prep day for two of my upcoming classes. I made a HUGE pot of cassoulet, two recipes of puff pastry (for Pithiviers), and my all-new 5 Pound Cake. Now I have to make my dinner.

What's the "Five Pound Cake"? Not 5 X the usual recipe, I'm sure....

Hi Jenise....
What's the "Five Pound Cake"?

Easy peasy... A pound cake (or Quatre-quarts with four ingredients) made it Texas.

Alright, I'll shut the door!

1 # Flour
1# Sugar
1# Butter, melted and cooled
1# Eggs
1# Cream
Dash of Salt
Vanilla to taste

Mix like any quick bread. Bake at 375° until a tester comes out clean.

It was for a class I did called "Butter, Eggs, and Cream".

P.s. The above directions are abbreviated. But you know how to cook so this shouldn't be a problem.
