When no one is looking...

by Jeff Grossman » Sat Nov 14, 2009 12:17 am

...do you lick the bowl clean? Eat all the crumbs off the plate? Chew the peppercorns and the cinnamon sticks? Eat the burned bits stuck to the roaster?

Fess up! What nibbling do you do only when no one is watching?

Peanut butter by the spoonful is my downfall. Can't resist the stuff.

Lick the beaters, lick the cake cutter, wipe up bits of food off the counter with my finger, then lick it....

I love eating the last few roasted potatoes with my fingers so that I can better dredge them in whatever sauces are on the plate. As I just did 15 minutes ago at lunch!

Lick the bowl clean - nope
Eat all the crumbs off the plate -nope
Chew the peppercorns - nope
Chew the cinnamon sticks - nope, prefer to suck on them
Eat the burned bits stuck to the roaster - absolutely

As to peanut butter from the jar, why bother with a spoon when a finger will do even better
With raw tchina - with a spoon (even better than peanut butter for the screaming munchies)
Eat the left over pasta when its cold - yup
Eat Heinz beans directly from the tin - yup
Make a mustard and onion sandwich - yup
Wipe the bacon fat from the skillet with a piece of bread - yup

I am a sinner. And I have no feelings of guilt about the above listed sins.

Crispy bits are my true love...and I don't care who is watching. Gene even saves them for me!

Crispy bits, yes.
Lick the cookie batter off the spatula or scrape the side of the mixing bowl, yes.
Recently ate some goat cheese crumbs off the cutting board.
