Easter dinner?

The upcoming Easter is on April 4. What do you plan on cooking? And have you bought any candy yet?

May I ask, in the truest sense of both friendship and curiosity, why you have posted this question approximately six months in advance of the holy day in question?

I've been procrastinating and am still working out my Valentine's day plans.

I not only have Easter all wrapped up, I've done the 4th of July and am now working on Halloween 2010.

Rogov beat me to it with his question, and I'd answer it but have been too busy deciding what I'm gonna do for the Fourth of July!

Of course, I always plan ahead. It seems the retail community in Redding does too, as I have been seeing Christmas stuff all summer in the stores. Now, back to your question.

Easter dinner is usually the same every year, tradition reigns for our family. We have a leg of lamb, seasoned with tarragon, garlic, butter, cooked on the grill. Some sort of risotto, spring asparagus, mesclun salad, home made ice cream and M & M peanut candy in Easter colors, of course. We have an Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren, and we used to take everyone on a carriage ride pulled by huge draft horses. Sadly, this has become so expensive, we no longer do it. We all loved the ride and the smiles from the neighbors as those proud horses clippity, clopped by their houses. But we made some good memories.

I've been putting the finishing touches on my February Groundhog Day dinner, which is just around the corner. Now, all I have to do is track down one of those varmints with my .22-250. OBTW, Happy Festivus and Feliz Navidad!
