Creme Fraiche Substitute

by Fred Sipe » Sat Oct 10, 2009 2:22 pm

I don't want to make my own.

I'm thinking maybe half sour cream and half plain yogurt?

Any ideas?

As a substitute, I have used either Mexican crema or sour cream whipped with heavy cream.

Two popular subs for creme fraiche are half sour cream and half whipping cream, or a cut of whipping cream and about 3 Tbls of buttermilk.
