Gourmet fruit flies!

So I was out of the fancy apple cider vinegar I'd used so successfully and bought a bottle of el cheapo store brand to dedicate to future attempts to seduce fruit flies to their death and guess what, the varmints aren't having anything to do with the new stuff! Oh, they know it's there, and in fact they're all over the glass. But they just sit around the rim like so many starlets tanning poolside in Miami and they never go in!

I realize that the fruit flies are naked but that interests me not. Do tell about the starlets however. I might just be booking a quick flight to Miami.

Actually, I started to type "starlets tanning poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel" but decided that but for you, that might be too obscure a reference.

Let me take this opportunity to thank whoever it was that brought this topic up several weeks ago - was it you Jenise? We have had one of our crème brûlée dishes out on the counter since then with the red wine vinegar/drop of dish liquid dishwasher combo to great success! My 22 year old son, a biologist, has remarked on how perfect the little specimens are as they have not been swatted or otherwise crushed - leave it to a biologist. (BTW - He's looking for work and yes this is an inexcusable plug for him.)
