Low GI meal

by Larry Greenly » Tue Aug 25, 2009 12:01 am

I've been eating more or less low GI meals for the past 6-8 months, and the lbs have melted off me. I've lowered my bp so I could cut one of my zombie meds in half and feel more normal. I had been threatening to start a zombie support group (I know how they feel).

My wine buddy is trying to lose weight, so I invited him over tonight to show him how I eat now. We started with a bowl of lobster bisque, then a whole wheat spaghetti (I didn't have enought linguine) with mixed mushrooms, shrimp, etc., and a garlic basil pesto quickly stir-fried with parmesan reggiano shredded over, whole-wheat garlic bread and a dessert of macerated sliced peppered strawberries in a whipped non-fat milk with a little stevia and pepitas sprinkled over. And a couple of bottles of wine. Yummy.

It's a pretty much a no-pain diet regimen, but it would be nice to eat potatoes again--especially potato chips--my weakness.

And I have not cut back one iota on wine (so if something I write something that doesn't make sense, you should understand). We all have our limits.

Oh, low glycemic index, not lower gastrointestinal tract. That's very different. Never mind.
