Flour delivery

I'm stupidly cheerful about having 75kg (165lb) of bread flour sitting in my hallway - just delivered yesterday.

I guess in the same way an artist can get excited about a set of canvases arriving. On their own they're nothing special, but the ideas you can play out on them... have fun!

Ha! Actually, only one bag is for me, the rest are for friends and neighbours. We have a baking "consortium".

Hard for me to get excited, C. When I worked in the bakery we had pallets delivered. And in the smallest restaurants I ever did I would buy four or five times that amount at one time.

And I think I'm really adventurous when I buy over 5 # at a time.

I'm beginning to think 12-step about now, Celia! I mean -- unless you just opened a bakery or somethin'!

Chef: yep, I know, it's tiny bikkies compared to retail and commercial outlets. But I love the potential it holds..like having a well stocked larder..

Jo Ann: Only one bag is mine (although I have to confess there's a fair bit here already). At the moment, buying flour is still cheaper than therapy (just).
