Scored at the gourmet warehouse sale!

by Shel T » Fri Apr 03, 2009 7:43 pm

There's a gourmet import warehouse here in North Hollywood that only sells to the trade except for 4 times a year when it's open to the public for a day and a half. I've been reading about it for ages but always after the fact, until now! Spotted the event today and Jan and I got there at opening time and got some excellent items at great prices. Our haul consisted of bottles of both black and white truffles, aged balsamic, tons of imported charcouterie and cheeses, chocolate and more and 400 bucks later, staggered out of the joint.
Jenise, you'll know Bristol Farms, the expensive gourmet markets in L.A. We figure what we bought, had we gotten it at Bristol Farms, would have cost us in excess of $1,200.
And so much more to buy there!

Shel, which place are you referring to?

It's called Epicure Imports and it's at 6900 N. Beck Ave., in NOrth Hollywood. Open all day today to the public.
