The price of milk here has dropped the last few months. The range so far is $1.48 to about $2/gallon, with most prices hovering around $1.79.
How about your area?

I buy all of my milk at a local farm. It's $3.50 per 1/2 gallon, but fresh as a daisy.

I'd have to take out a second mortgage with all the milk we use.

They used to sell it unpasteurized/unhomogenized, which was worth a second mortgage.

If I buy the raw, unpasteurized milk from a local farmer it's $6.00 a gallon. The store-bought, no hormone variety runs around $2.00.
