Apparently, one of the CBS Sunday Morning guys decided to stop by the Heart Attack Cafe, near Cave Creek, Arizona. This place is completely over the top in every aspect, from the ungodly burgers to the relationship between the waitress's/"nurse's" uniforms and their breasts.

It would be interesting to see if this place is a huge success or a total flop. I'm guessing it will stick around given the girth of some of the clientele and the fact that the combination of lots of food and scantily clad women has a certain eternal appeal to many males.

Oh, this place will survive. After all, one can get 4 days worth of calories at once for $12.95. :?

That is just wrong...on so many levels.
My chest felt tight just watching it.

That "food" looked ghastly.
Do you suppose they lined all those fat guys up specially, or do all their customers just happen to look like that?

The question that remains to be answered: Are the burgers and French fries good? I have sung many an ode to burger joints but only when the burgers are worthwhile.

As to the scantily clad women - bad taste!

Gently, raising the temperature slowly, and removing the covering at the last moment, to preserve moisture. Whipped cream and chocolate sauce optional.

Edit: Best with sweet wine - Sauternes, 5 Puttonos Tokaij, TBA Riesling.

What is it that says T&A goes with fattening foods? I just recalled one of the few times I went to a Hooters. We didn't finish all of our wings, so I heated them up in the oven the next day. About a cup of grease came out of those wings upon reheating.

Here's a stab at an explanation, Carrie: fat is cheap. Any place that is marketing itself on the basis of T&A is unlikely to expend much effort in the food department*. Thus, a fast&dirty way to fill people up, fatty foods, probably overly salty too.

(who, thankfully, has yet to set foot in a Hooters, let alone the Triple Bypass, but who has dined on passably good French cooking in a bowling alley)

* This is not to say that there might not be an exception or two, but I'm talking here about the overall trend, thankyouverymuch.

Bet you wanted to nibble....

I like my ground beef lean and it looks like these guys have huge amounts of fat in theirs (and huge caloric content as a result). Not my cuppa. If I want to indulge in a lipid orgy, it will involve duck or goose liver sizzling in a pan....Image
