His predictions/suggestions for the new food pantry trends. I agree with pretty much all of it except for the vinegar thing. There are some flavored vinegars that I like to use (black fig, blood orange, pecan).

I'll bet most of us here are ahead of the curve on most of these things. It's a nice "validation." :)

Nothing here that I would consider a "New Trend".
He specified cheap in reference to flavored vinegars - agree. The better ones will still be trendy because they are so versatile - everything from drinking as is to use as a condiment.

Even though it is only January 7th, I am sure that is the most worthless food article I will read this year. It is a sad day when tripe like that is printed in the NYT. What next? Weekly bio's of "celebrity chefs"??

That's pretty much what I was thinking. While we won't get much use from this information it's nice to see someone with so much exposure put it out there.
