My 2nd Favorite Present

This is from my Mother and Stepfather; a very nice cake of Pu-Erh tea. I have inserted my hand in the picture to provide scale.

Beautiful!

My food related Christmas gifts from Santa were a whole Jamon Serrano and Grant Aschatz's book Alinea. Oh, we also received a fresh whole King Crab that a friend overnighted down from Alaska--not a pile of legs that could have belonged to any crab, but a real whole critter. It was superb, reminded me how much I'd forgotten about how the real thing tastes without having been frozen at sea for months and sold to me by Costco.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I also received some tea from my wife's friend: Lapsang Souchong in bags. I've always bought it loose. Good on wintry days either way, though.

I love a good lapsang souchong. You just can't beat that unique smoky flavor and aroma.
