My newest obsession!

by Jenise » Mon Dec 22, 2008 5:14 pm

http://www.mamalils.com/

A true local product--made in Seattle. I discovered them just a week ago and have already consumed two jars. In fact, dinner last night (we'd had a large, late lunch) was a plate of camembert slices richly lathered with Mama Lil's (the sliced peppers in oil with garlic), a plate of cool sliced cucumbers, Wasa multi-grain crackers, and a bottle of a Washington riesling. I could eat the same meal all over again tonight.

Most interesting, though, was how well Bob took this meal. You have to understand that when I met him he did not eat hot food, pickled food or peppers of any kind. I've slowly been sneaking these foods into our repertoire--a few peppers with a sandwich, a pickle in his lunch, that kind of thing. But last night was the first time I dared make a whole meal around something pickled, and these are fairly hot to boot. Yet he sat there last night raving, literally RAVING, about how good this was!

My work is done. :)

Oh don't. :)

But you know what, as soon as I find my copy of Jeffrey Steingarten's Man Who Ate Everything, which I've misplaced, I'm going to start a thread on learning to like the foods one hates.

Oh, no! Don't let Stuart see it, or I'll have to let him bring the Dreaded Soap Weed into the house!

Wow, I did! I think I'm now supposed to get the key to the city, or a new Cadillac. Robin!

You need an oil change and a new filter.
