Pizza Duh

by Larry Greenly » Wed Dec 17, 2008 1:41 pm

Yesterday (Tuesday), I ordered a large pepperoni pizza. The gal on the phone said that it would $14. I replied that I had a coupon that would make it $10. Okay, it'll be $10, she said.

When I arrived at the pizza place, I noticed a big sign in the window: Tuesdays Special: Large One-Item Pizza $10.

She didn't even ask for the coupon. Duh.

We had pizza at a new place last night. We didn't encounter any issues with the counter help, however. (Except the kid kept calling Stuart, "Sir." I think it's 'cause of all the white in the beard..... 8) )

I think you just attract these folks, Larry.

I get a lot of that these days. I kind of like it.

I guess I'm more than just a chick magnet. I can't remember if I posted about some mail I got a couple of days ago at the office from some bible-thumping nutcase in Florida. He's not a SouthWest Writers member or anyone I know, but he sent me a pamphlet extolling the virtues of getting castrated (less disease, longer life, less wife-beating and other violence, etc., all backed up by research and bible passages). My favorite wife wants to know when I'm scheduling the surgery. Hmmm, wonder if Medicare covers it.

Your wife will beat you less? Sounds like a good deal, unless you enjoy that sort of thing, of course.

She says she'll stop beating me when my morale improves.
