So?

I purchased a 25-oz bottle of dishwashing detergent that had a label on the front of it, thusly:

56% More
Than 16 oz size

Is the punchline that it was a 24 oz bottle? (To return this discussion to the 'deceptive packaging' thread) :P

Duh on me. I omitted the size of the bottle I purchased. Now can you see the punchline? Take into account the font size.

Well, at least it was truthful, even if the intent was to mislead.

I think the term for this sort of thing is "marketing".

It was, indeed, 100% accurate but so what? Color it misleading.

That's 50% more accurate than it would be if it were 25% less so.

Or something like that.

At least they identified the item that it is 56% larger than. Usually, they don't.

Why would they want to? What sense would it make to say that a 20-oz size is 100% more than a 10-oz size? Was it to teach you math skills? Or could it be the large type was designed to make you think you're getting 56% more for free? Hmmm, I wonder..........
