Cinnamon question (for Penzeys users)

by Linda R. (NC) » Sun Dec 07, 2008 11:33 pm

Getting ready to reorder and wondered what is everyone's favorite Penzeys cinnamon. My last jar was Chinese Cassia, which I liked.

The Vietnamese stuff is great but I keep both types. Some things just taste "like they used to" with the usual cinnamon. The Vietnamese cinnamon has a very distinctive edge

Linda, I have to admit I was perfectly happy with the cassia until I went to a brick and mortar Penzey's store and sampled the Vietnamese and Cassia side by side. And there really was no comparison--it's the Vietnamese by a mile.

It's unanimous (so far). We have three different Penzey's cinnamons in the place and the Vietnamese is easily my favorite.

Vietnamese in my house, as well...yummy! Just placed a Penzeys order and it was on the list.

Thanks all, for the hearty recommendation. I think I'll order one Vietnamese and one Chinese.

Penzey's sister store sells a Korintje Grade A Indonesian cinnamon that is very good.
