Elliot Spitzer, move over

by Jenise » Wed Dec 03, 2008 3:19 pm

And yet another famous man goes down in a sex scandal...and with a professional "other woman" no less.

Well, I don't think this one has hourly rates, but 'professional barracuda' might apply. She actually wrote a how-to book on how to go about it after she other-womaned Mrs. Jeffrey Archer, a British MP.

You know that powerful men have a greater appetite for conquest seems to be a given, but the idiocy of their choice of partners in these endeavors never fails to amaze me. Like this chick would just walk away!

Ramsay is allegedly gonna sue the News of the World for the 'revelations' and if they have any kind of proof like pix and sworn affidavits, he'd better have a damn good case or he's gonna come out smelling like stinky tofu.

She also wrote a book detailing how to have an affair and had apparently contacted Mr Clifford several times earlier this year with a view to launching a television career on the back of her writing.

Sounds to me as though she's attempting to launch a career on her back, all right.

Shel, GB has very different libel laws than the US. Truth is not a defense.

This sort of thing is endemic in the business. Chefs have a lot of stress. :D

Stuart, the News of the World will be the defendent if Ramsay goes ahead with the prosecution and UK defamation laws are friendlier to the plaintiff, but only if the defendent can't prove the case.
Interesting that you should bring this up as Jeffrey Archer, who is mentioned in the article, was eventually put in the slammer for perjury and perverting the course of justice for the very same situation Ramsay is in, and had to pay back the 500K he initially won plus damages.
So what I think I wrote about Ramsay is accurate, he better hope the NOTW doesn't have pix of him 'doing it' or it's gonna cost him plenty literally and figuratively.
FYI link to UK libel laws follow.

I wondered that myself at first. But, then realized that gossip about food personalities probably marginally qualifies for placement here.

Ramsey's a celebrity chef, and some people here (not me, but) are fans of his show(s).
