BBQ sauce does replace traditional red pizza sauce. Obviously not an original idea since Wolfgang or whomever pioneered this years ago. We just had some extra dough that Traci made in the refrigerator and I thought it would be fun to make our own. Basically, baked boneless/skinless chicken breast tenders slathered in bbq sauce in the oven for 20 minutes, cranked up the heat to 500, then rolled out the dough, hit it with bbq sauce, topped with chicken, then a mixture of monterey jack and parmesan-reggiano, then bacon and into the oven for about 16 minutes. topped with cilantro, cut and served. A 2006 Syrah that I made from a Dry Creek Vineyard went well with the pizza

All over the South, I believe, not just Melvis. I even saw it in West Virginia back in the early '70s.
