Regulating Olive Oil

by Redwinger » Sat Nov 22, 2008 8:49 am

Probably coincidental that Connecticut, with a large Italian-American population, is the first state to tackle the olive oil problem. I also found it interesting that Italy has Special Olive Oil Police.

"Stopping fraudulent olive oil from reaching consumers is nothing new overseas. In Italy, for example, there's a special police unit trained to distinguish fake extra virgin olive oil from Italy from the real thing."

Actually it's more likely because our Attorney General and Governor see fraud and conspiracy behind every door. They love to goad the legislature into regulating everything.
