RCP search need input please?

I got some filo pastry shells at a really good price today. The little mini ones you make tarts with.
I am thinking about a pumpkin tart for Turkey day. This is my thoughts so far.
Taking pumpkin, mix with a half a bar of cream cheese, nutmeg, little cinnamon, and some pumpkin spice. Heat it all together and fill the pastry shells. Top with a little whipped cream and possibly sprinkle with pecans.
Does this just sound completely nauseous or maybe something that would work out?

I am open to suggestions! LOL

I dunno, sounds pretty good to me! Maybe something to bind it?

Agree with Stuart.

Maybe a tot of rum or bourbon thrown in?

As it stands, you will have pumpkin soup.! If you add an egg you need to bake the filling in the shells. If you don't want to bake the shells make a custard or souffle then fill.
Nothing wrong with making your regular pumpkin pie filling and baking it in the shells. One nice thing about the shells or small tarts, you don't have to have them all the same - adding different seasonings as you go - as mentioned -bourbon, calvados, pecans, crystallized ginger...

These are all great suggestions! Think I will go back to the grocery (and stop by the liquor store too) and get more ingredients and possibly more shells! If these turn out, I know what some of my family will be getting for christmas! LOL
Thanks all, will let you know how they all turn out.

I'm with Christina - some egg to bind it together is just the thing.

FWIW I prefer creme fraiche to straight whipping cream.

Ditto, ditto. Essentially, a pumpkin cheesecake of sorts.

Love the idea of the individual tarts in phillo, Lori.
