What a strange burglary. In some after-hours clubs in NYC, that would have passed for a proposition.... :D

My neighbors are Hungarian and the first time they invited me over for dinner the appetizer was a very good hard, smoked sausage. When I asked them what it was, they said "Hungarian Night Stick". Maybe that was the weapon in question?

Could give new meaning to the term 'dry rub'.

Makes you wonder what the perp's motives truly were, doesn't it, Jeff? I think he took the money just as a blind myself, and that the "rubbing with spices" part was his true objective. Your comment reminds me of when a grad school classmate of mine (from Mississippi) wandered into a Lower East Side bar named "The Mine Shaft." He got a glimpse of a whole other Manhattan subculture that day that had previously eluded his scrutiny :P

Oh, yes, that would have been different than the usual :!:

Indeed. Suffice it to say that it fell to me, the comparatively urbane ex-Berkelian, to explain the concept of a golden shower to him. He still speaks to me, so I must've done a decent job of it.
