No, I definitely do not think it is time to invest in Starbucks. In a rough economy one of the first things people will cut out are the $4 cups of coffee. People cannot control what they will pay for a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk but they can control what they pay for coffee by choosing to drink the free coffee at work or inexpensive coffee at home versus buying overpriced coffee at Charbucks.

When I worked for an unnamed global consulting firm, I never ceased to be amazed by the droves of people who would take the elevator 32 floors down to the belly of the building just to pay for a cup of Starbucks when the company provided Starbucks brand coffee to employees on every floor. I witnessed this in almost every city I visited when working for that company.
