Now it's tomatoes. Forty people in NM have gotten ill from salmonella on tomatoes. Tomatoes, with the exception of grape tomatoes and those still on the vine, are disappearing from local grocery stores and restaurants.

Good. Tomatoes shouldn't be sold at grocery stores when they're not in season. It's karma.

Luckily I never buy tomatoes at grocery stores.

BTW, would salmonella count as an animal product for vegetarians?
