If you have some leftovers in your fridge like ham and cheese, here I have a solid dish for daily business........

Ingredients (serves 2):
1 puff pastry
4 slices ham
3 slices parma/serrano
1 egg yolk

Bechamel
20g butter
15g flour
250ml milk
30ml white wine
30ml white port
1 shallot
1 laurel
50-100g parmesan or other cheese

Looks delicious Martin...my husband would love this dish.

I never heard of white port before...I haven't seen it around me, could I use something like a cream sherry instead?

Maria,

don´t worry, it works also well without white port or any kind of sweet alcohol! I am honest, I made it without white port, but it is in the recipy
from my swiss friend Robert and I wrote in my slideshow optional you could add white port.

Greetings from Berlin,
Martin

Maria, Dow's makes a good white port that is pretty much available most everywhere. runs under $20 anywhere.

Bob,

That has to be one of the best avatars I have ever seen. It is right up there with the Martha Stewart mug shot.

Maria,

On the rare occasion when I have cooked with white port, I have used the Warre's. It is widely available and around $15USD.

Bob used to use that, too.
