I believe you can buy this rice cooker in the US from this company by mail order.

http://www.zojirushi.com/ourproducts/ri ... okers.html

I'm not sure whether you want your friend to have the unit in Japan for the event, or if he is buying it for you to bring back. In any event, I suggest you contact the company and see if they can help.

Their contact info is here:

@ bob,

this ricecooker is not listed at the us-importer-page zorjiushi.com

the one i search is the NPLS18 it is one that can produce pressure

i will wirte to the customer service to see what the suggest, thanks.

btw. in japan they have 100V - 50hz, in the us 110V 60hz, in europe 220V 50hz.
i need a 220 version becaue the cooker has about 1500W and all transformers i found can only holt up to 1000W.

I see, tsunami. The only Google hits with that model are in Japan.

But, if you try the US rep, they may be able to help. My own experience with us reps of Japanese companies has been very positive over the years. And, I would call rather than write.

I'm sure you'll be able to communicate well in either Japanese or English with whoever answers.

Good luck. Bob
