It's on newsstands now, though I don't have my copy yet. Anyone else a fan?

We get The New Yorker in the mail, but it doesn't usually come until Thursday, by which time it's usually online and widely available on news stands. This is irritating. But I'm looking forward to the issue.

Same here, Robin. It always surprises me that it comes four or five days after the online version.

I wonder if any of the hard copies arrive anywhere before the online version.

It's a tough call, Bob. In a way I admire them for making good use of the Web, a medium that print media has been generally slow to embrace and unenthusiastic about using to its full potential. And of course it doesn't actually hurt me to have some of the stories out there before I read them.

But maybe they assume that there's a generational division, and that in large measure, people who want to read it on paper don't go online?

Strange, mine arrived today. Early.

I wonder where they mail from?

And, they are awfully generous with their free online content, I think.
