My Rachael Ray rant.....

I suspect that all political satire is dated. If not, that would mean our political culture hadn't changed or grown. Well, maybe I should take back my first sentence...

When asked why he stopped writing politically satire, the great Tom Lehrer said that once the Nobel Committee had awarded the Peace Prize to Henry Kissinger, there was nothing more to be done in the genre . . . .

Have to wonder how long before Mrs Beckham appears on the RR show!!! Oprah is on there again today, not that I am watching of course.

Bob, Posh was closer to that show when she lived in London than she is in L.A. Not that I care....

RR is the subject of a supermarket tabloid headline trumpeting her recent big weight gain (along with very unflattering cover photo). I guess that means she's really made it as a media celebrity.

She's also on posters extolling the virtues of one of those froo-froo concoctions at Dunkin Donuts that take the staff forever to prepare and mean that I have to stand a long time in line for my regular coffee when some airhead yuppie cretin in line ahead of me orders one. Grr!

Paul even though you live practically in MA, you have to learn that in New Hampshire, and the rest of Northern New England for that matter, we insert the word "swamp" before "yuppie." Airhead and cretin are other acceptable modifiers.

I quite agree. However, I would also add to the insult of prostitution of chefs. Ray is in a commercial for Dunkin' Donuts. Anna Olsen is doing the Pillsbury dough boy and Splenda. Wolfgang Puck is marketing his dishware on a shopping channel, to name a few. Just how much money, fake fame do these people need? Don't they realize that they are losing their credibility?
