Hi, somewhat new to the food board but been lurking for awhile and enjoying very much.
Picked up some wonderful crab meat and thought I'd put the fixins together for crab cakes.

I was desperate for an instant dessert, so I opted for topping savoiardi with dark and white chocolate ganache. As you do.. :)

Ironically, I've just express posted some to a friend in South Australia. The postage cost a fortune, but he was a happy boy. :)

Patti, Robert, if I could, I would. Thanks for your encouragement! If you want to try making it yourself, I've been madly experimenting and finally have the technique down pat. More on my blog here.

Celia Dear, if you EVER make it to the U.S.A., you are welcome to stay as long as you like at my house (and use my kitchen while you are here).

This might make you all sick. :)

My take on Aussie pizza - fennel, onion, pancetta, oven-roasted passata and mozarella...WITH an egg cracked into the middle..

After two years of working my butt off using a Chargriller offset smoker for ribs, brisket, turkey, and ribs, I bought a Weber Smoky Mountain smoker yesterday. Since the kids were home for the holiday weekend, ribs were in order. The maiden voyage of my WSM went quite smoothly. One load of hardwood lump charcoal and wood chunks rapidly hit 245 degrees F and the smoker stayed above 215 for the four hours I smoked the ribs. Never took the lid off, never opened the door to add fuel. The result was four slabs of very tasty ribs:

This is pretty much my standard issue fruit pie - in this case strawberry/rhubarb. It's real beauty is in the expression of the fresh locally grown fruit. The crust is made with oil - grapeseed and walnut oils, sugar kept to a reasonable minimum. I love rhubarb!

I was so pleased to find that the new camera I bought this past Sunday has a food setting! The first thing I thought of was this forum and this thread in particular. Now if only I could figure out how to use the damn thing! Gotta go - I have most of the instruction book still to read. Hope to post a food pic here soon.

See, EY, I don't know if you're kidding now.. :)

I do know Robin thought an Aussie burger with beetroot was odd, so I wasn't sure how an Aussie pizza with an egg would go down..

Summer Berry Pudding: I made this as the dessert for the rabbit class that I taught the other night. That's why there is a little bunny cracker as a garnish.
