Barb, we most certainly think not! Of course, I am someone who regards tomatoes as a food group unto themselves, and even the most important one. :)

That tomato tart looks just amazing. Was it as good as it looks?

The tart was incredible. Sam (20 y.o. son, picky eater) ate three...Then another for brekkies, I think.

Barb, I agree with Jenise on the tart - it looks wonderful. We're currently going through 10kg of tomatoes a week (making all our own pasta and pizza sauce while toms are in season) - I'd love to try your tart. Is the recipe on your blog?

Thanks, Celia

Btw, your tomatoes also looked incredibly red and ripe. Where are they coming from at this time of year down there?

Linda, thank you - I wrote about it on my blog. :) I had to use up all the leftover apples that the boys didn't want to eat! Worked a treat too - my son ate half the pie when he came home from school (and he's only 12! Imagine what he's going to be like to feed at 16!)

Stuart, I keep telling you, you don't need me to send you anything anymore. You have the best baker in the universe sleeping by your side.. :)

Well I'd love it if you all visit http://www.BabetteFeasts.com tomorrow (when my post goes up) to follow the link there OR, of course, you can find Ina's recipe right here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/tomato-and-goat-cheese-tarts-recipe/index.html

And, hey you guys--what am I missing? I make links in other places by clicking on a link icon...I can see how to make the actual URL live for readers, but how do I write "Babette Feasts" and make that live to go to my blog???? Thanks for your help.

And Jenise, I'm in Florida. South South South Florida It never goes below 80 where I live (only a SLIGHT exaggeration!)...ripe tomatoes are sinfully easy to find here.

Barb, simply type in your text Babette Feasts, then highlight it and hit the URL button. Backspace to take out the ] bracket from the end of [url] Replace it with an = sign and type in your url. Then replace the ] bracket at the end of your url. Voila.

Like the example below. I've replace the [ ] brackets with { } so you can see what I mean.

The vegetarian lifestyle is obviously suiting you, Cyn - that looks delicious!

Here is a non-vegetarian slab pizza - made for a 21st birthday :

It was huge - equivalent to eight of our normal pizzas!

Sicilian! That's a very popular style on the East Coast.

Cindy made this port glazed strawberry mascarpone tart, from the cover of a recent Gourmet Magazine
It was delicious. The strawberries have been very good lately.

John, that looks amazing - the strawberries look so red! The ones we've had lately have been really pale, with just the red on the outside.

Dave R, you're a sweetheart. :)

Barb, finally got my sound fixed so am able to watch some of your videos and I started with this one. You're really good on camera! Very natural and friendly (not that I thought you'd be otherwise).

Here is a photo of Barb's tart that I made last night..

The tomatoes were so ripe - just wish I'd remembered the basil! I ended up using a sour cream pastry, which I'm currently enamoured with.
