Those sound like they may be what we call Kumquats over here. The Nespole are more the size of a large apricot or plum.

Mmmm...no. A Kumquat is a citrus, where a loquat is a stone fruit. I'll look for a google image to post.

Ta Jenise - they certainly look the same as Nespole, but maybe the Italians (and Spanish) get a larger variety?
