Now with google and the other search engines a company can't afford to have many posting about a dangerous product or their lack of concern. Toyota finally got it!

The gas company guy (they were out within an hour of my calling, amazing!) thinks it would turn out to be the igniter. Which makes it more interesting, since that was the original problem with the big oven after installation that took three service calls to get fixed. And the fix was that service guy #3 knew that the igniter was faulty in the model I have but supposedly debugged in the newer models, so he ordered a new igniter and replaced mine. After that, no problems until now. Which isn't saying much: that part should last a lifetime on a range you spend this kind of money for from a company like Viking.

So what did Toyota finally do about your truck? I think about you from time to time when a Tacoma crosses my path, and have kept meaning to ask.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

So far Toyota hasn't done anything for me other than put in new floor mats and change a pedal. They installed the new hard rubber posts that secure the new improved drivers mat backwards. A month later the mat was completely loose! Personally I expect nothing. I just want them to feel enough pressure and attention to change their ways of dealing with problems. Between all the bad press, blogging and the Tsunami their production and sales really dropped. It looks like South Korea cars are catching up fast.

I learned a long time ago in community activism that if an entity won't listen or change by drawing attention to the situation and the ramifications of it's action or inaction over the long term causes change. Use the sunlight principle. If their actions are morally and ethically correct bringing attention and "sunlight" to the situation should not be a bother to them. If this isn't the case they will pay the price over the long term.
