There is a town in Texas named "Ben Franklin". I suspect there were more coyotes there than people as the population in 1990 was 75 men, women and children. I also suspect that the census bureau stopped counting back then as the town population seemed to be on the decrease. At any rate, in 1990 there was actually a pizza joint in Ben Franklin. I have no idea if that pizza joint still exists.

As to Ben Franklin himself, I doubt that he ever sampled, yet alone commented on the relationship between pizza and sex. Franklin spent a good deal of time in France but very little in Italy and during those days pizza was pretty much a white affair (no tomato sauce). What the heck, I guy who goes flying kites in thunder storms isn't going to be all that interested in pizzas. 8)

I fall under the same mysterious wonder.

Not that I eat excessively (I'm fairly good at having a couple servings of fruits/vegetables/grains per day), but the way I frequently adore many of the naughty foods on my list, I'm constantly surprised that I never gain weight.

In fact, the worse I eat the less it seems to show! I think my metabolism must have been blessed with some sort of bizarre reversal of Murphy's Law or something LOL. I've weighed around 170 since graduating high school and it never has wavered much. Of course, I know there is no guarantee that it will always remain that way.

And all this is not to say that I think I'm "off the hook" for any of these naughty foods I enjoy. As I often joke with others, it may not show on the outside, but who knows what my arteries look like...

Good BBQ. I absolutley crave pork ribs, brisket, pulled pork, etc. I know that fatty meat is terrible for me but sometimes can't help myself.
Cheetos. The only time I have them is when I grab a tuna sub (another weakness) from Subway and I can't resist a bag of Cheetos.
Cake, almost any flavor.
Cookies, mostly chocolate chip with a little oatmeal in them.
Karen, I also have a weakness for peanut M&Ms. (My favorite bridge snack.)
Hello. My name is Carrie, and I...I....still like oaked Chardonnay. (Please don't judge.)

Oh balderdash. I know why this happens: you're a man. If your wife (or me, or any woman reading along) ate what you eat, she'd blow up. :)

It ain't necessarily so. I know one woman, fairly slender, who in addition to eating copious amounts of food daily needs at least two chocolate milkshakes daily to avoid losing weight. All to do, I suspect, with metabolism. And by the way, she loves fine dining ... and, fortunately for her, milkshakes.

Haha... Well I can't deny the being male part! (at least the last I checked).

Yet, as Daniel illustrated, being male can't possibly explain all this. And I swear I've seen overweight men. Granted, many of them might just be eating larger proportions of the "bad stuff" than me.

(Crunching on a hard taco from Taco Bell with a gleeful smile...) :)

I have a terrible confession. I have never had a Taco Bell taco. Can I be forgiven?

Yes but it's bordering on a travesty if you haven't... :D

Listen, I've never set eyes on you, but I'm fairly certain about that part.

And of course there are exceptions on both sides of the aisle, but surely we can all agree that women tend to put on weight a lot more easily than men. Probably the greatest proof of all that God is a God and not a Goddess. :)

And yet, from my eyes, I've always been envious (and thankful) for what he blessed women with! The greatest of them are definitely what's good, right and beautiful in the world. I'm not sure what he had in mind with us...

Funny but this was one about the only meat item for which I had cravings during my decade as an vegetarian. All the other meat cravings died after about 60 days but this one persisted. Now reformed I believe I have only had one or two and those were both within the first month of eating meat. Have not had one since. I can't make sense of why I craved them for all that time and now don't really care for them. Did they change them sometime between 1991 and 2002?

Ice cream. There is a brand of gelato in the supermarkets out here called Talenti that is just amazing. Plus, the Bay Area has gone all "artisan" in ice cream as well... Humphrey Slocumbe (named after the uber-kitschy BBC sitcom Are You Being Served) :) in SF is amazing.

Butter. I KNOW it is bad bad bad.

Cheese. Especially stinky cheese like Red Hawk or Taleggio and the like.

As guilty as I can be in enjoying a moment of indulgence at the golden arches, the fish sandwich never seems to speak to me too often. I'll happily nibble on one, but they aren't the first item I think of when I indulge there. I think they stumped me awhile back when I ordered one and seen they now put a slice of cheese on them. Of course, it's easy enough to just order one "natural" and enjoy it, but that pairing has left me puzzled ever since...LOL.

My favorite McDonalds cravings would have to be:

1. The Fries!!! (Ahhh...when fresh and warm, these little things are unequaled) ;)
2. The (Iced) Coffee (especially when freshly brewed)
3. Big Mac

Probably in that very order.

I think my cholesterol is going up just typing...:)

- Almost any good cheese
- Hot Dogs that snap and crunch when you bite into them with fresh crisp sauerkraut
- Brocolli-Rabe lots of Olive Oil and Garlic

A Pig
