I did think it might be something from Saturday Night Live - you know, where Dan Ackroyd plays Julia Child and cuts his arm off etc...

It sure looks like that, but in spite of the fact that you and I scream with laughter watching her, she's dead serious. And as Shel points out, seriously rich too because of it. Has branded her style "semi-homemade", even has a magazine by that name, which unabashedly relies on reinventing store-bought package foods. She even manages to ludicrously imply in the intro to her show that this approach is money-saving. Oh and Celia, note that in every show, her clothes match the curtains and knickknacks on the wall behind her. It changes on EVERY episode.

I wish I could be that stylish. I have trouble getting my clothes to match each other, let alone the furnishings... :)

Wonder no more (and since you're a baker, I chose a dessert item for your introduction):

At least there's plenty of evidence that whatever she is she wasn't singling anybody out with that. Judging by what I saw on You Tube yesterday while searching for the baked potato thingie, she's insulted EVERY holiday with her ugly desserts.

Wow.

If I cooked like that I'd be as skinny as she is.

I get all the reasons you guys don't care for this woman's show - I share them

That said....look out! She strikes me as a really tough, self made determined woman who will go way beyond what anyone would have conceded her...look what she has done already compared to us "commentators"
