There is no waste as they are always in beautiful shape. As soon as I buy it, I take them out, wash the heads very well and dry them in my salad spinner. I then rinse out the clamshell, and put them back in to be ready for use. They are terrific.
Which store did you find this product ....I'm wondering if Trader Joe's might have it?

Yes, they are called Raley's and I did buy the lettuce. I won't buy it again. The lettuces are packed so tightly, they were hard to remove without some damage. Sections were starting to rot and they were very dirty. Yes, I always wash my lettuce in a large bowl, but this was a gritty dirt that could have easily been sprayed off prior to packing. The taste is no better than any other store bought, however they are pretty.

Exactly what we purchased at Costco, Karen, and like I said: beautiful product. Rich, full, clean heads, and yes they were in there tight but it wasn't a problem removing them. Sure they needed to be well-rinsed, but you have to clean all soft lettuces of silt and dust anyway.
