Just to follow up my own question above on whether Shredded Wheat still mentions "the Niagra Falls cereal" on the box, sadly it appears they don't.

I checked out a box at the store today but couldn't find the classic phrase anywhere on it. So apparently its now just the cereal of ANY kind of Falls that exist on the continent... I miss those old boxes...

It's still here (in the States). Definitely good stuff! My slight preference was always Cocoa Wheats between those two top classics but Cream of Wheat was always a treat as well. To me they were always two sides of a same coin - kinda the hot cereal equivalent of deciding between vanilla or chocolate for that day...

Ate a lot of Cream of Wheat when I had esophagal cancer a couple of years ago. It was one of few things I could swallow. The thought of it now, brings back bad memories.

Excellent "Freakies" reference, Scott!

I'll toss Malt-o-Meal in as the Cream of Wheat version that I liked.

That's certainly understandable in such a circumstance.

Most importantly, I'm happy to hear you're better!

I used to hate breakfast cereal. In fact, like Jenise, I've always much preferred to eat something like leftover dinner for breakfast at about 10-10:30 am, in place of lunch. But on our recent travels we spent a lot of time in Mexico, where it was really hot in the morning after I swam my laps, so I found myself craving a cool breakfast. So I started having a couple of tablespoons of plain unsweetened yogurt (Lala is my favorite brand), topped with crunchy granola, a little whole milk and some sliced fruit or berries. I've been eating that here at home now that I found Lala yogurt at our local ethnic grocery store.

I always liked Kix when I was a kid.

I don't eat breakfast cereal anymore--haven't since I was 17.
