Food Network = Soap opera for foodies.

Mario was good. Alton is watchable for information. I liked David Rosengarten, too (and he liked my second book).

I like Ming, and yes, Emeril can cook - however one more "Bam" and I'll get out my Beretta. And it's just too damn cutesy calling the refrigerator an "icebox".

The rest of it is tripe. Obviously some folks have a taste for tripe.

Funny you should mention her. The lady who was dismissed on the show we saw last night, kind of resembled her!

Karen/NoCA wrote:Jenise, I certainly agree with you about Ina and the blue shirts, plus all the other comments. I really enjoyed Ming Tsai for a long time. Isn't he on the Fine Living channel now? I used to watch Andrea Immer, hoping to learn more about wines. She has a nice manner about her and many of the places she visited were familiar to me and always interesting. She is on the Fine Living channel, as well. I should check out and see who else has moved there.

I didn't even realize there WAS such a thing as the Fine Living Channel. Only other channel I see for cooking shows is Create, a PBS channel only for HD subscribers. There, I occasionally catch an Jacques Pepin or Lidia Bastianich.

Don't you think he is/was tolerable when it was just him and a cameraman though? It was the Live show that was so truly, dreadfully annoying.

I have never been able to stand his presentation--mainly the way he repeats everything he says. "You take this here onion...you take this onion. And you chop it. You chop it up. Then, see, you take this bacon that you fried. You take the bacon that you fried, and with this bacon that you fried, you chop it up. You chop it up into nice big chunks."
Bores me to tears.
Hello. My name is Carrie, and I...I....still like oaked Chardonnay. (Please don't judge.)

Emeril is now on the Green channel or network or whatever they're called, and that has to be the ultimate oxymoron!
