Don't get happy, y'all. Actually, Martha's been a member of the posse for quite some time. She is always a guest at Puff's White Party -- and she has never missed one of 'em (his first was in the Hamptoms -- they are neighbors). She got jiggy wit 50¢ about 3 years ago and he gave her a shout out during one of his interviews. Here she is with Ludacris. Where y'all been :?:

Where y'all been?

Well, I haven't been watching Martha, that much I can tell you!

I like the comments on the Ludacris show, especially this one: Im sensing some sexual chemistry. Martha wants Luda to tap that azz!

Yes, as a matter of fact, a few years ago I tried a recipe for "Day before mashed potatoes" that, as the name suggests, you can make ahead of time. They call for sour cream and cream cheese and end up tasting a bit like the filling for twice-baked potatoes. Yes, they are a little heavier, but for me that's not necessarily a bad thing. I don't really like "airy" mashed potatoes.

Sour cream's good! I love it in mashed potatoes. Just never added the cheese, and your comparison to twice-baked makes sense. It would be tasty enoiugh, but probably not what I want from a mashed potato.

Makes his objection to rap-as-music even more inexplicable; people said the same thing about the stuff he was involved in and you'd think he might draw an analogy...

Jenise, we had these for Thanksgiving. A friend who doesn't cook so much asked what she could bring and I sent her the recipe for these and had her bring them in a crock pot. They were better than I remembered. People couldn't stop eating them. When dinner was over, people were diving into the crock pot with clean spoons. They are extremely velvety.

Now, "velvety" catches my attention. I wonder if this is how my friend makes her most excellent mashed potatoes? She insisted on bringing them to Thanksgiving one year, said her husband and son wouldn't forgive her if she didn't, and I was thinking okay, good mashed potatoes are good mashed potatoes, but I had to admit hers really had something special about them.

Carrie, that's a good idea for the old crock pot. I really have a hard time finding a use for it - it just doesn't seem to suit the way I like to cook and eat. Can you please share the recipe ? Thank you! :)

LOL Stuart, jeez, what's inexplicable is that you don't 'hear'-get the differences between rock-n-roll & rap and that leads me to make a reasonable assumption that you and I will never be on the same page, musically speaking.
For the sake of discussion only, R&R like R&B always has melody, can be and is sung, and can be portable if you're not tone deaf, hummed at least from here to the door!
Rap has little to no melody, is shouted or spoken or chanted, not sung and a repetitive beat is an integral part of the "product", and it is not hummable. Of course it is "quotable", and a good way to add to your vocabulary of 4-letter words, so it does have some merit!
Like I wrote earlier, you wanna call this "folk poetry", will happily go along with that. Music...no.

Here's the recipe for you and Jenise. Enjoy-- let me know what you think! Instead of step four, just put into a crock pot and put on low until you serve.

That's what alter cockers used to say about the Beatles, too. And, for that matter, The Who.

Almost sounds like you are talking about Gregorian chant.
