So I should shove the beef filets back in the freezer?

If they haven't completely thawed, it's OK to swtich them out for venison.

I'm all out of venison except for some ground. I save it for soups and chili.

Venison chili... that sounds good.

It sure hit the spot last weekend.

I picked up some acorn squash while riding in the country today. I'm thawing some chicken thighs which I will marinate in Chiavettas. I'll cook more of the chicken tomorrow, as I'll be taking it to a friend's where we are all going to watch the Bills-Raiders game.

Dry aged porterhouse and frites for me tonight. Just started the charcoal.

I certainly understand the Friday night not wanting to cook thing. When I think back on it, I don't think inspiration was my block, I think my lack of desire to cook was the problem.

Tonight I'm going to make the seafood linguine and open a bottle of chardonnay so I can get in on the wine focus before September is over.

Tomorrow night I'll make the pork. Then I leave for Omaha and won't cook all week.
